A family secret that spanned forty years...

Forty Years In A Day is not just a novel — it is a testament. It was born from the true story of a real Italian family that immigrated to Hell's Kitchen, New York in the early 1900s, carrying with them a secret so significant it would shape the lives of everyone around them for decades.

Co-authors Mona Rodriguez and Dianne Vigorito were cousins who grew up hearing fragments of this family story — passed down through generations in the way family stories always are: in pieces, never quite complete, laced with the kind of pain that people instinctively soften for their children. Through research and interviews, their goal was to create a fictional story that follows a family through several decades, providing the reader an opportunity to stand in the shoes of a past generation and walk in search of their hopes and dreams.

What they discovered was extraordinary: a woman of uncommon courage, children who bore the weight of secrets they were never told, and a twist of fate so inconceivable that it leaves the reader spellbound.
